Céline Ufenast is a Swiss London-based filmmaker and artist working across experimental animation and abstract painting.

As independent director, her work investigates contemporary themes of digital culture, memory, identity and human (dis)connections through the lens of personal and collective experience. Céline’s films have been screened at over 60 international film festivals.

Alongside her filmmaking practice, she worked as Awards Coordinator at The Animation Showcase (London) between 2022 and 2025, managing PR and digital marketing strategies for multiple Oscar®-winning films. In 2024, she mentored emerging screenwriters for the BOWIE Queer Future Cinema programme in Lausanne (Switzerland).

Since 2025, she has developed a painting practice rooted in spontaneity. Working primarily with acrylic on paper, she applies paint directly by hand to bypass rational control. Her compositions emerge intuitively as raw records of her emotional states.

She holds a BA in Animation and an MA in Global Media Industries from King’s College London.
